⌨️ 10 days with the magic keyboard and mouse
🖥️ setup10 days
ago, I put away my mechanical keyboard and Logitech MX Master 3s and
went all in with the Apple magic keyboard and mouse combo. My plan was
to give it a week and now that it has been over 10 days, I have some
thoughts.
- the magic keyboard is nice, quiet (little too quiet 🤷♂️), and touch ID is very useful.
- magic mouse is still an ergonomic nightmare but I'm surprised that I have experienced no pain because of using it.
- It's nice to swipe on the mouse itself to move from one workspace to another. No other mouse does this.
- It's frustrating when both devices momentarily disconnect occasionally and it usually takes around 30 seconds to reconnect. 30 seconds have never felt so long. This never happened with my wired (duh obviously) mechanical keyboard. My Logitech mouse is also connected via the USB dongle, so there are no connection dropouts.
- I miss the feeling of typing on a mechanical keyboard, but not as much as I miss using a real mouse that my hand can hold.
Tomorrow, I will put my magic mouse away and welcome the return of the Logitech MX Master 3s to my setup. I am still undecided on the magic keyboard because the addition of Touch ID is really nice 😽.
