🤖 Building a phone that is Enough!

🧑‍💻 tech

Recently, I discovered the Enough Phone Project. As you may be aware, I have used the iPhone 13 Mini as my full-time device for almost two months (only recently going back to my Pixel Fold). The iPhone 13 Mini is a fantastic form factor. Despite meaning performance improvements on iOS27 beta, the iPhone 13 Mini lacks that I rely on. This includes:

  • always on display
  • display more than 60hz
  • decent camera
  • lack of USB C port.
  • UWB
  • More RAM

Despite the above limitations, I still use the iPhone 13 mini every day. The size is just right.

A couple of young guys have come together to make a phone that is just enough. You can read about that here:

https://enoughphone.com/blogs/news/the-beginning

It comforts me that these folks come with experience: Dumbwireless and SLEKE

However, information about this phone remains limited aside from:

We're making a phone that:

  • is comfortable to use with one hand
    • Roughly @ 5.3” diagonal screen length, 5.2” height, 2.5” width
  • built with premium components
  • has good battery life
  • takes great photos
  • doesn't cost a gazillion dollars

I also want any phone that I buy to include MagSafe and it should be light 🪶

Despite the above limitations, I still use the iPhone 13 mini every day. The size is just right. For this reason, I am looking forward to how this project develops. A Kickstarter is launching soon.
