⚽ FIFA 2026 Final: Argentina vs Spain

At 5am, I woke up, galloped downstairs and turned on my projector. For the first 20 minutes, it was just me soaking in the final. I didn't go to my cousin's place because he was supposed to come to mine (which he did not). Anyway, I had the company of my father, my uncle and my other cousin.. so no complaints here.

Honestly, I am disappointed with Argentina. The only person from Argentina that played real soccer was the goal keeper. It seemed like every shot on goal landed in his hands.

Based on the stats below, I am also surprised that Spain didnt score more goals. Once again, credit to the Argentine goalkeeper, and it has to be said, that their defence is world-class (as it should be)

Amazing that Argentina had ZERO shots on target, 5 yellow cards and one red cup. Despite this, Spain only scored one goal, while have 11 goals on target (well done goal keeper), impressively no yellow/red cards.

This also is the first FIFA World Cup that had a half-time entertainment show (American style), which I didn't really care for. All in all, USA hosted a good FIFA world cup and I enjoyed the last five weeks of waking up early to watch the games.

From tomorrow, it's business as usual. Readers of this blog will know that I only watch soccer during the World Cup. So I suppose I will reconnect with the game at the Next World Cup in Spain to witness Spain defend their cup.
