🎥 Hercule Poirot Trilogy

📺 tv

A few weeks ago, both my wife and my son came down with the cold. To protect me, my wife slept in my son's room for a few days. During this time, I struggled to sleep. While browsing the Disney Plus catalogue, I discovered Murder on the Orient Express (2017).

I was seeking an escape, and this movie provided it. This is a murder mystery set on the luxury Orient Express train service in the 1930s. The scenery was beautiful, and the cast was amazing. Kenneth Branagh played the main character, Hercule Poirot, who was a detective. He also directed the movie. This movie came out in 2017 and five years later, its 2nd instalment, Death on the Nile was released.

This time, the murder mystery is set on a beautiful ship on the River Nile with another fantastic ensemble cast. This one also did not disappoint. A year later, in 2023, its 3rd instalment was released, A Haunting in Venice.

This one was slightly different in the sense that it had the supernatural theme as its backdrop. However, the core ingredients were very much there; beautiful location with another great ensemble cast and another elegantly executed portrayal of Hercule Poirot (the detective) by Kenneth Branagh, who also directed the movie.

If you enjoyed the first movie, you had to wait 5 years for the 2nd movie and then another year for the 3rd movie. I was in a position that I could binge all three movies in a couple days during the week. This movie took me on a journey from Europe to the River Nile and concluded in Venice. I never felt bored throughout the entire film. I'm a huge fan of murder mysteries, so these movies were perfect for me.

All three movies were based on books authored by Agatha Christie. She wrote these books over 50 years ago. How impressive and cool is that....

If you have time to watch quality movies, please check out these three films.Â
