Miss Scarlet and The Duke

Couple of weeks ago, while browsing Amazon Prime, I came across Miss Scarlet and The Duke. According to Amazon Prime, it is one that I would like. Its probably because I enjoyed Young Sherlock (which I did). Anyway, I found it odd (likely due to licencing issues) that Amazon Prime had season 2 and onwards but not Season 1. Who in the their right mind would start watching a TV show from Season 2... not this mere civilian.

Anyway, this show seemed right up my alley. Lately, female based detective shows are something that I find enjoyable. Elsbeth (on ParamountPlus) is also another show that I am slowly watching and enjoying.

Anyway, I found another way to watch Miss Scarlet and The Duke and currently on episode 3 of Season 1. I am utterly disappointed, in myself, that I somehow not discovered this show earlier. I am down right kicking myself. You see, I am one of those that spend a lot of time looking for TV/Movies/Games that I will enjoy and therefore, most times, I end up only watching things that I know, I will enjoy.

This show started in 2020. I went through the entire COVID period without knowing about this show. hame on me for missing this one. Better late than never, I suppose.

I love the setting, in the 1880s London, where each character is dressed well, has excellent command of the English language. Most importantly, it was a time where women did not have the rights that are available today. The story may be fictional but I feel its been inspired from true events. The lives of women would have been extremely difficult.

Its early but I suspect, I will spend many hours watching this show.
