🙇 Struggling but making progress: iOS and Android
🤖 androidTwo days ago, I published on my main blog detailing why I carry two phones. By the time, I published the post; I was convinced, I had to pick between the iPhone 15 Pro Max and Pixel Fold.
To put things into action, I removed my work sim from the Pixel Fold and added it to my iPhone as a second sim. I also, turned off the Pixel and put it away. Out of sight, out of mind… I thought.Â
Well, two days in, I am missing the Pixel Fold. I also realised, the Pixel Fold not only replaced my 12.9 iPad Pro, it also replaced my iPad mini. I forgot I even had that one. Because, I wasn’t using it (thanks to the Samsung Fold at that time), I gave it to my mom.Â
Without the Pixel Fold, I was once again looking for my iPad mini. The difference now is that, no iPad or iPhone can fold into half its size; so it take more space. I cannot put my iPad mini in my pocket but I can my Pixel Fold. I have a Bellroy Sling which is perfect for my Pixel Fold but the iPad mini barely fits.Â
So, that gave me the realisation, I am not carrying two phones, I am carrying one phone and one tablet (Pixel Fold) and that is how I need to treat these devices.Â
Now, I am going to put some thought into implementing this idea 💡.
Current thinking:
- Both my work and personal SIM will remain in my iPhone so when I only need to take my phone, I can take the iPhone being full confident that anyone both from work and personal life can reach me.Â
- Get a data sim for my Pixel Fold. Well, this was easy because my iPad already had an active eSIM in it which I wasn’t using so that eSIM will be perfect for the Pixel Fold.Â
- Managing notifications like I did on my iPad which is there is almost zero notifications on my iPad.Â
Just the thought of bringing the Pixel Fold back in my life is
making me feel good.
So, just perhaps, the following will remain part of my EDC
It’s 8:40PM on a Saturday night. It’s been a good day thus far
where I spent most of the day with family, made some critical changes to
my UniFi network in preparation to move the main router in the garage
and only in the evening have had some time to reflect on a few
things.Â
