US Department of Justice vs Apple (initial thoughts)
Just heard about the court case and honestly, I am glad that DOJ is finally doing something about it.
Yes, Apple is a great company that makes even better products. My issue with them lately is the steps that it takes to keep you within their ecosystem. Apple, regardless of how good it is, is still a for profit company (and it's largely owned by very wealthy people who are getting wealthier).Â
There are many, many small things it does.. For example, 30% Apple store tax is stupid. The app store is more like public utility now.Â
Anyway, capturing random thoughts.Â
I will watch this space... Maybe, it will be better for all consumers and that includes Apple's customers.Â
Btw, when a government sues a large multinational business, I will side with the government.. because, the government is supposed to working on behalf of all citizens of that country and the multi-national works exclusively to make as much money possible for its shareholders (not its customers)
