⚖️ Weighing iPads

I am going on a short vacation, and it appears each time I do that, I go through an exercise on which devices to take with me. As a fan of the carry-on travel lifestyle, weight is an important criterion.

Today, the focus is on iPads, specifically the iPad Pro 11 M4 (cellular) and iPad Mini 6 (regretfully not cellular).

Got my trusty coffee scale out and the findings are:

• iPad Pro 11 with magic keyboard 1,073 grams
• iPad Pro 11 with MOFT dynamic case: 791 grams
• iPad mini with Moft Dynamic Folio: 490 grams
• ProtoArc Foldable Compact Keyboard (XK04) and Surface mouse: 306 grams

When you add the keyboard, mouse and the Moft case, the weight is similar to the iPad Pro with the Magic Keyboard. I want to take my iPad Mini but I need a keyboard. I say need because lately, I am on a streak of posting on my Unfiltered Blog (this one) and it’s much easier with the larger display and a keyboard.

It’s settled, once again, the 11-inch iPad Pro with the Magic Keyboard is my preferred travel companion.

Despite living a two-phone lifestyle, the iPhone Air will be my mobile device of choice. The Pixel 10 Pro Fold will get much needed rest.
